Bring your best Keyforge skills and your favourite deck, and battle it out in our Keyforge Prime Championship!

This event will take place at St Paul's Church in Cheltenham. This is a competitive event, and all players will be expected to be familiar with the game rules and FAQ/Errata. Registration opens from 9am, with the event beginning at 10am. Advance tickets are £15, going up to £20 from 1st March.

This event will use the FFG Advanced Structure at Formal Tier. We expect to run 6 rounds of Swiss pairing with a top 8 cut.

Prizes for this event will come from the official Prime Championship kit, which can be viewed on the Fantasy Flight website. Additional prizes will be added depending on the number of players - keep an eye on our Facebook event for further details!

Wait - isn't this one week after the Grand Championship?

Yes it is. We booked our venue for this event in early September, a handful of days before the first mention of possible dates for the Grand Championship. We looked very hard at whether we should move our event date when the GC was confirmed, and for a number of reasons - in particular, weather concerns based on experience from previous years in this area - we ultimately decided to stick with our original plan for the 7th March.

Schedule

This event will run single game rounds (35 minutes each) during Swiss, and best-of-three single elimination rounds (90 minutes each) for the top cut.

9am - 9:45am: Registration
10am: Announcements
10:15am - 12:30pm: Rounds 1-3
12:30pm - 1:30pm: Lunch break
1:30pm - 3:45pm: Rounds 4-6
3:45pm - 4:15pm: Swiss round prizing awards, afternoon break
4:15pm - 9pm: Top 8 Cut

Please note these timings are subject to change, depending on the number of players taking part.

Venue

St Paul's Church is approximately 10 minutes walk from the centre of Cheltenham. Toilet facilities are available on site. Disabled access is available at the side of the building, please let us know if you need to use this and we will ensure someone is available to help you. The venue is heated, but please bring extra layers with you in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

Parking

Participants will have access to free parking at the venue on the day. The grounds at the front of the church will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional parking is available at the nearby NCP and the High Street Car Park (fees apply).

Travel

Cheltenham is accessible by car, bus, and train. If travelling by car, please plan your route ahead of time; "Boots corner" is still closed to public use, but may not show this on some Satnav systems. The Royal Well Bus Station is about 5 minutes walk from the centre of town. If arriving by train, the D bus will get you from the train station to the town centre.

Food/Drink

Hot and cold water will be available at the venue. Players are welcome to bring their own food and drink, but we do ask all food and drink be kept away from the game tables. An hour break will be given for lunch to ensure any players wishing to go into the town centre for food have plenty of time to return before the afternoon rounds begin.
